These are all things which help to give you a picture of the quality of our practice. Each item is explained below, and results or ratings are included.
Wyndcott Dental Centre is a member of the The Good Practice Scheme. This is controlled by the British Dental Association.
Being a member means we keep up to date with nationally agreed standards of good practice, and are assessed from time to time to ensure that we offer the best care for our patients.
What does it mean ?
We have taken extra care to meet or exceed standards of care, Infection Control and hygiene, which all staff receive regular training on. Our dentists are committed to continuing their professional education by attending courses to keep them up to date with new techniques, materials and research.
We take the time to check your medical history and general health, which helps us to treat you safely, and to offer relevant advice on how your dental health may be affected. We screen all patients for mouth cancer at routine checkups, and notify you of any findings.
In short, it means we are committed to offering you the best care possible both today and in the future.
The Care Quality Commission was established to ensure that providers of care (Dentists, Doctors, Nursing homes, Hospitals etc) are following the policies and regulations that apply to them.
This is done by means of inspections carried out at each location, after which a report is written and any recommendations for change are included. If there are recommendations, the CQC will inspect again to determine if they have been carried out.
What are our inspection results ?
Our practice was inspected in January 2013, and the report can be read by clicking here. There were some items the inspector felt should be improved.
A second insepction was done in the same year, to confirm we had carried out the changes needed. The updated report can be read by clicking here.
The NHS is collecting information from all NHS services and contractors to build a picture of how those services are performing. You will be able to see the feedback and compare services through the NHS website, though at present their information on dental practices only show the existing reviews which are not part of the Friends and Family survey.
You can see our friends and family test results here, on our website.
